Review: Neutrogena Deep Clean Revitalizing Grapefruit Ultra Foam Cleanser

I have used different kinds of cleansers in the past and have never stuck to a certain brand or product. As per my dermatologist, I do have a very sensitive skin (which I can’t believe) that’s why I have to be very careful with whatever I apply on my face. For the record, I do have a very oily and acne-prone skin. I break out every now and then, regardless if my period is coming or not.

I am not a fan of applying a lot of mixtures in the face, like adding different kinds of fruits, DIY masks, or so. I am too lazy to do that. LOL! So I just usually rely on the items that I can buy outright. Right before switching to Neutrogena, I was using an in house kit set from my facial clinic, they call it “Anti-acne Kit”; it comes with a soap, astringent (morning), some skin whitening therapy (night) and a tube of sunblock. During the first two weeks of using it (with my facial session on a bi-weekly schedule), I felt the huge change in my skin. Though I do have a very oily skin, I still felt the difference of having a moisturized skin, in a way that my face don’t get more oily. But afterwards, I still get break outs. I thought maybe I should use it continually and see if it will make any more difference. One more thing, I bought their tretinoin cream hoping my face could improve some more. Tretinoin does skin peeling. It says on the label that it is anti-acne.

So obviously, I ended up switching brands (again). So there’s this one time, I was just browsing through SM department store when I get into the section of skin care products. There was a service attendant, briefing some ladies about this foaming cleanser from Neutrogena. I was curious so I decided to just get one. I got the grapefruit the first time by the way.

The picture above is my second bottle of the cleanser already. I do not have to state the obvious, I know.. But please let me just say it, I LOVE IT! No break out since I used it! I love the fact that it really cleanse my face very well. No need for a make up remover. Though I still wipe my face out before washing, I just want to make sure all the eyeliners are completely removed. I don’t want to end up looking like a zombie with some faded black smudges around my eyes after washing my face (if you know what I’m saying).

So here’s my final verdict of the product:

What: The Neutrogena deep clean ultra foam cleanser comes in two (2) variants: Revitalizing Pink Grapefruits and Brightening Mulberry.

How much: P307.50

Where to buy: SM Department Stores / Watson’s

  1. It comes with a convenient pump. (Foam)
  2. It cleanse very well.
  3. You will feel instantly refreshed after washing.
  4. It doesn’t dry up my skin. I kinda feel that my face is moisturized after washing.
  5. It contains anti-oxidants so it’s really good for the skin.
  6. Doesn’t cause break outs. (Very important!)
  7. Absolutely oil free!
  8. Non-comodogenice.
  9. Alcohol free.

  1. I need to have at least 5-7 pumps to have the satisfaction of cleaning my face. (I don’t know if that’s a con but the only bad thing I can say about this product. Not even bad, I think)

Would definitely purchase this again! And will also try there oil free moisturizer. Review soon!

Make-Up Haul (Philippine Local Cosmetics)

I have always been a fan of make up, ever since I was just little girl. Until I get a job, that’s the time I buy my own make up, because my mom usually does.
At my first make up haul, I find my interest in buying Revlon products. Not just because of its popularity but I heard that some of their products will suit my very sensitive and oily skin. I spent more than P3,000 for 4 items from Revlon. It contained foundation, eyeliner, concealer and lipstick. Will do a separate review on that.

With me being obsessed in acquiring the skills of a make up artist, I have been watching and really watching and watching almost every make up tutorial I can find on YouTube. With that, I fell in love with the local beauty gurus. I found my obsession really worth it after watching tons of tutorials made by my fellow beautiful Filipinos. I have never been a fan of local products until after then. I never realized that they are as good as the most expensive brands you can find at Rustans. Now thanks to my obsession! I was able to buy a lot, as in a lot of make up items worth P3,000! And they are as good and even better than those overpriced products from the same department stores!

So here’s my first make up haul of our very own cosmetic lines. This is something to be proud of! Though, I really have nothing against any expensive brands, I agree, they are all beautiful and amazing! I still use them, of course. But forgive me, I just can’t get enough of admiring these local products! I am just happy that I don’t need to spend a dime to get each and every make up I wanted to have to get that perfect look!

So here I took a picture of my latest haul:

Ground Beef with Sayote

There are days in our lives where our fridge is about to become empty and all you have left is some about to be dried vegetables and some frozen meat.

I slightly invented this dish as this is the most decent goods I found on our almost empty fridge. I call it “Ground Beef w/ Sayote”. It’s not the usual “Ginisang Sayote” you can find everywhere. Usually, everyone uses ground pork and a little bit of shrimp in this dish and I see some who adds some carrots with it. Sayote has been one of my most favorite vegetable of all time so whatever type of dish they do with it, I eat. This time, I made my own little invention, I added beef.

  • 3/4 kilo Ground Beef
  • 1/4 kilo Ground Pork
  • 3pcs Sayote
  • 1 clove of Garlic
  • 2pcs Onion
  • 3pcs Tomatoes
  • Ground Pepper
  • Beef cubes
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup butter

How to cook:

  1. Boil Ground Beef in medium heat for 5 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of iodized salt.
  2. In a pan, set the heat in a very very low level. Once heated, add the butter.
  3. Once the butter has completely melted, add onion and wait until it becomes translucent. You may want to adjust the heat level into medium;
  4. Add garlic, mix. Then add tomatoes.
  5. Once the tomatoes has become juicy, add ground pork. Mix very well.
  6. Add the boiled ground beef, including the water.
  7. Mix mix mix for 3 minutes.
  8. Add all the flavorings, 2 teaspoon of salt, beef cubes and pepper.
  9. Once everything has been mixed. Add your vegetable, sayote. Mix mix mix.
  10. Wait for five minutes and it’s done! Serve it with your choice of rice.

It tastes really good but, I didn’t even feel that there was some ground pork with it. It all tastes like beef but it was really good, I mean really really good! It was far different from the usual “Ginisang Sayote” that I eat.

Could have done:

I could have added some oyster sauce and little bit of spice to make it more delicious.

I would definitely cook this again!

Pepper Lunch Review

SImageo  it was a tiring day at Subic and we were about to have our dinner before heading back home. We’ve been looking all over to find a place to eat. There we found a mall, Harbour Point. Not knowing it was a new mall. The mall is really nice, there’s a lot of restaurants to choose on. Not just restaurants, but shops where you can buy goodies so it’s a nice place to visit when you are within Subic.

We were roaming around inside the mall to find a restaurant where we would really love to eat, hoping I could find Sizzling Pepper Steak. But even with our starving tummies, I still push my energy to look for something that’s worth all the hunger. Until finally! My almost disappointed spirit melt down the moment I saw Pepper Lunch. It was a priceless moment! Since there’s no SPS in the vicinity, PL is the nearest alternative I can take.

So we entered and everyone greeted us “irasshaimase”, a Japanese word meaning “Come on, in!”. At first I thought, it would be the same as SPS, like in fine dining, servers would approach you and hand you their menus in your seats, but it turned out the other way around. We had to carry our asses out of the chair and make our selections in the counter just like how a fast food run. So that was the first disappointment. Though the server we had decided to just give us the menus on our seats since I think he figured that we were really tired and hungry. That was nice, I thought. So everyone made their own choices while I chose Curry Rice with sliced beef. I’m really in love with curries. Back at SPS, I always order the Pork Curry Pepper Rice. So our server brought us our bill instead of us paying it on the counter. That was again, nice.

Then the food arrived after around 15-20minutes.

The servings is far different from Sizzling Pepper Steak (forgive me as I always compare them both, as they are the only fancy restaurants who serve sizzling nicely). I had one sizzling pan with sliced beef around the corners and rice in the middle, as usual, and a jar of some sauce while the others didn’t have any sauce at all. They used a small cup to measure the rice so if you’re a fan of rice, you’ll find it as a small serving that’s why I had to order another cup of rice which was again a disappointment, I will explain later. So I had to flip the beef for them to get cooked. I was looking for a curry powder on top of the rice as that’s how SPS served the Pork Curry Pepper Rice, but I found out that the sauce I had, was the curry flavoring. I only knew it when I ordered another cup of rice, when our server told me that it was the curry flavor. So there’s no more refill, I had to buy the sauce for P125, I think and hey that’s too much for a small jar of sauce!!! But then I had no choice as I was really starving, then I just order another cup of rice for P45.

I give one out of five. It solved everyone’s hunger but not enough for satisfaction. When I eat at Sizzling Pepper Steak, I always get out with a smile on my face and a full satisfaction. The taste of the food isn’t that outstanding for it’s worth.

I give it a three out of five. The effort of the staff made a plus on everything. They made it really convenient for us at that very moment. But the way they operate, the fast food set up and the long wait and all, is such a disappointment knowing the price of their food is quite high.

Two out of five. Again, you would only rate such if it gives you all the satisfaction you are looking for. Aside from unsatisfactory, the serving of the food is not worth the price at all. They could have made the servings quite big to make all the food experience worth it. The taste of the food is not really outstanding. For someone who has been really starving, it could’ve tasted better. But despite of the hungriness, I still couldn’t say it was delicious.

PRICE: 2/5

Again, as mentioned above, the price of the food does not worth everything.

I would never go back and eat at Pepper Lunch again.

A Day at Zoobic Safari, Subic

It’s such a nice day when we decided to pull it off and go up North!

Hello hello Zoobic Safari! I’ve been longing to see you! Of course, you are the one and only tiger safari in my lovely country.
It took us around 5-6hrs to get there since we are coming all the way from South (Batangas). We were a bit lost in the vicinity of Ortigas, so that’s additional minutes of travel. Unluckily, we forgot to bring our dear Garmin GPS. Everybody is really bad with directions except for me, it’s just that, that time, my boyfriend, who is driving just told me that, he knew the way so I didn’t bother, but still, we got lost. LOL. So lesson learned, always ALWAYS bring Garmin with us specially with trips like this. Oh by the way, we took off at around 9:00 in the morning, so yea it’s really late. Haha!
So finally, we got to the entrance of SCTEX! Yey!
So here’s the picture of my exhausted from driving boyfriend. Hihi ❤
Aside from a very convenient and fastest way to get to Subic, SCTEX is aslo known for it’s beautiful scenery so it’s really worth the ride. Of course I did not miss the chance of taking some pictures.
As someone who entirely lived her life in Manila, I really appreciate any place where it is pollution-free. I loves seeing mountains! I just don’t know, but there’s something about mountains that amaze me. That’s why I really love living here in Batangas.
It’s just sad that there are mountains need to be compromised for the benefit of us humans. 😦
After some hours on the road, it is a relief to know we’re getting there! Hooray!

There’s is a landmark along SCTEX that I find memorable.
Remember the Coke TV commercial “Karl Kalabaw”? There’s a group of teenagers inside the car passing by a tunnel while ditching someone singing, “Karl Kalabaw Karl Kalabaw”. LOL 😀
That’s the tunnel down there. 🙂
Here’s a shot from the inside.
So, we passed through the highways and now we’re on the forest! Haha!
I thought once we passed SCTEX we’re pretty near Zoobic Safari but it took us another 30 minutes to get there, with the “getting lost” part of course.

Almost there!

I smiled when I see that there is a butterfly garden right in front of Zoobic Safari but became sad as soon as I found out that it’s closed  for reasons I don’t know. 😦 So I just stared from outside trying to sneak up on some butterflies, well of course I didn’t see any.
Whew! We’re FINALLY here! ❤
Some entrance pictures with boyfriend’s mom and sister. 🙂
For the outfit, I’d suggest you wear a sporty attire since it really gets dusty around the area. Otherwise, a sneakers would be really useful.
Tiger stuffed toy at the souvenir shop from the entrance.
While waiting for our batch’s tour, there are some tigers roaming inside their cage around the waiting area. Something to check up on, so you won’t get tired of waiting for your tour guide. 😉
So after around 10-15 minutes, our tour guide arrived and gave us an overview of our itinerary.
First stop: Serpentarium
I’m not really a fan of reptiles so I didn’t enjoy much of this tour.

Second Stop: Animal Show

It took around 20mins before the show starts.

At first, I thought it would be really be boring since it started with these mascots dancing.

But the second part of the show did catch my attention.

It was the Aeta’s performing their traditional dance.
I find it amusing since it was the first time I get to watch such.
And then now the animals! I mean, real animals!
Take note, while these animals were up for a show, there’s this crazy funny music that collided with the parade. So it turned out to be really fun!

Third Stop: Aviary and Rodent World

We were excited for the Tram Ride as this is the highlight of the entire tour.
Fourth Stop: Zoobic Cave
Here’s where you can find creepy stuffed animals.
Fifth Stop: Savannah
This is the part where I am excited the most. A close-up view with the Tigers. Rawr!
Zoobic Safari is selling fresh chicken for P200 per one whole to feed the tigers. We didn’t opted to buy since the people we were with inside the jeep already bought one.
The ride took us less than 10 minutes.
It was indeed a rough road. Very dusty! I don’t recommend this for people who have asthma. Everyone of us gotten sick for a couple of days after our Zoobic Safari tour. Not just because it was really tiring but we’re pretty sure it was because of the Savannah ride.
This part of the tour was very disappointing or maybe I was expecting too much.
I thought there would be a bunch of tigers around the area to feed on. But it turned out there are only two of them and the other one were too lazy. Look.
Good thing we didn’t buy any chicken to feed them.
Outside Savannah you can find several souvenir shops.
My boyfriend bought me this little cute pink pig stuffed toy from one of the souvenir shops. Hihi ❤
Now off to a much closer encounter with the tigers!
We were instructed by our tour guide to stay away from the tigers because they might pea on us. The smell of their pea lasts for several days even if you wash it. So better stay away. HAHA!
It’s also nice to know that these tigers were donated by the Prime Minister of UAE.
They were once a pet of the princesses and later donated to the Philippines.
Cool isn’t it?
Seventh Stop: Zoobic Park
This is one of my most favorite part of the tour.
It felt like passing by a dessert full of these animals! Hilarious!
There was another part of the tour that we almost skipped. We were really really exhausted but I decided to get in to that cave since this is the only chance that I get to see it, so better not miss it. Unfortunately, due to the obvious reason that we were simply tired. We didn’t take anymore pictures from it. It’s just basically a cave with dead animal’s bone.
Picture from outside the cave.
Second to the final stop: Aeta trail & show
Another part that I enjoyed much is the log jump.
The Final and Last stop of the tour!!!

My Overall Verdict

I give it a four out of five. I loved everything except for Savannah. I think it would have been better if they untamed more tigers in the area. But the rest is just wonderful. I’m not really a fan of animals but this entire tour made me one.

This entire experience is great for families! I am certain that kids would really enjoy this!
Though I’m not really going back in there unless there are new attractions. They also have night safari, but I’m not going to try it really. Apart from the place being so freaky at night, I don’t find it safe since there is only few streetlights on the road.

Most of the staff that I encounter are well trained and polite. They’re all very helpful. Though there are some point that they try to lead people into buying their goods like the photo opportunity, etc. But in way that they are not forcing you.

Our tour guide seems to be trained very well. Average communication skills. She speaks clearly that everyone would understand. She appears knowledgeable that even though there are times that people doesn’t show interest in listening to what she’s saying, she manages to continue and catch everyone’s attention.

I wasn’t able to use the comfort rooms but I heard that they’re clean and well maintained. It’s also zoo-themed which sounds creepy for me. LOL.

I must admit, the location is quite far from what I have expected. It’s really far from the city. But what I find interesting is that, it’s all worth it!

Just make sure that you’re all geared and well planned before getting there. It’s a plus when it’s hassle free.

Wear something very comfortable as it really gets dusty in there. I’m not a sneaker person but I found it very convenient wearing one. Also, bring some extra clothes so you could change after the tour.

Bring loads of drinking water specially during summer.

Marriage is the process by which two people who love each other make their relationship public, official, and permanent. It is the joining of two fearless people in a bond that last eternally.
Two of my friends are getting married this year. I will be part of both’s wedding. One invited me to become one of the bride’s maids and I will direct their pre nuptial shots.
It’s been a long time since I wear a gown, I mean a formal gown and I’m excited about it. The last time I remember wearing one is during my eldest sister’s wedding on December 1998, I was just 8 years old back then. I wore a dress and not a gown during my ex boyfriend’s cousin’s debut but I don’t consider it as a gown since it’s a dress that ended above my knee and I looked fat on it which I hated so much.
Directing shoots are very fun for me and I love doing it like a kid having their first piece of candy. I started enjoying it when we did a shoot in Intramurous covering my pre debut of my niece.
I always dream of wearing a gown on my debut but that didn’t come true, so my only chances to wear such is being invited to these kind of events or on my wedding day. So when this kind of opportunity comes, I don’t think twice but just grab it, sometimes I volunteer :). It’s about the simple joy I feel, when I see myself beautiful in a gown at times. I don’t know about the others but I love dressing up at times and internalizing how beautiful I am with the dreses I wear and with the make up I put on.
Talking about being involved on their wedding preparation makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because, lovely couples will be tying the knot soon, sad because I wish I will also do the same.
I envy them not in a bad way, I envy that they’re brave to face another chapter of their life, without fear, they will conquer another phase of relationship. I just wish that somebody fearless will be brave enough to face the future with me.
I love having ideas on how I would want someone to propose to me, on how my wedding would go about. All these things, is just a dream as of now.
My whole point is that, I always wish that one day, that day will be the best day of my life because I will wear the most beautiful wedding gown in my better half’s eyes, have the most awaited solemn ceremony with my family, confide the most heart warming wedding vows and start a married life with the gentleman who was brave enough to face a new beginning with me.

If that day comes, it would one of the happiest days of my life and I can’t wait for that to happen.

Sound of Heart

I know that one day, I will find someone who would stick to his promise that he would never hurt me the way I was hurt before. That no matter what happens, he would always make me smile because it makes his day.
One day, that someone would be very proud to introduce me to his family and make me feel as if I’m one of them like what I do to him.
He would be proud to post our pictures to his facebook page and show the world how happy he is because I am his girl.
That even if I am at my worst, he would love and understand me the same even in my craziest because he understand that I only want his attention, I mean full attention and importance.
I would one of his priorities and will never fail to make me feel special even in his smallest and simple ways.
He would never make me feel that my life is a fiasco and I will have a better future because he’s there to help me rise as I do the same for him.
I know that one day, that someone will show respect in me even if I don’t deserve to be respected.
Never will he make me feel that I am a total failure to his life because he love me more than anything else.
That no matter how much he suffers, he would take it because he simply wants to make me happy.
He would always tell I am beautiful even when I’m wearing the most incredible clothes in the world.
Will always make me feel that I am the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with like what he always says and prove it to me every single day and that one day, I will carry his last name as we build our forever.
Someone who would be willing to cross all the bridges even if it means walking upside down just to make me feel how much he is willing to sacrifice for our relationship.
That he would always be consistent at all times and not just when I give a clue that I feel so neglected.
That gentleman would never make think that he have regrets of getting into this relationship.
Never will he ever think that he’s being held tight by this thing we have.
In times of loss, he would never make me feel that it was only my fault and will let me know that he never regrets any loss because he was happy.
Never he will make me feel insulted in whichever way.
All I need is someone, someone who would love me unconditionally.

It may sound that I’m looking for a perfect gentlement, but really.. All I want is someone would love me, appreciate me, give me importance and respect me no matter what happens.
